The following Snipesoft products do not have the ability to send promotional emails:

Furthermore, this document only applies to promotional type emails sent through OMINS. It does not apply to emails relating to a current or active transaction.

How the email system works

Some Snipesoft products or services have the ability to create customised emails based on numerous criterea. These emails can be used for notifications about a transaction, or can be used to send promotional email to customers signed up to their mailing list.

Note: This is a completely optional feature, and it is up to each individual client to decide whether to use the email system, and to what extent.

Individual emails may be turned on or off by each individual client, and in fact many clients do not send promotional emails at all. To find out whether a particular client sends promotional emails or not, you should contact them and ask.

Why did I receieve a promotional email from a Snipesoft client?

If you've received a promotional email from a Snipesoft client, it means you have joined their mailing list. There are a few different ways this can happen and these are explained below.

  • Many clients who use the OMINS website system provide the ability to opt-in/out of their mailing list at any time.
  • Your account have purchased off this client previously and chosen to opt-in while completing the checkout process.
  • If a client maintained a mailing list previous to using OMINS, this list may have been imported. When importing this data, we assume the client has previously abided by all applicable New Zealand laws regarding customer data.

How to opt-out of promotional emails

There are several ways to remove your email address from a client's mailing list to make sure you don't receive any further promotional emails. These are explained below.

  • Some clients may make available a page on their website which will allow you to remove your email address from their mailing list.
  • All promotional emails will have a link at the bottom where you can remove your email address from their mailing list.
  • You can email the client directly and request they remove your email address from their mailing list.

Note: This only applies to promotional emails sent by OMINS. Emails sent directly by the client (i.e. from Outlook or GMail), or emails relating to an active transaction will still be sent. These may include:

  • Notification of payment recieved, overpayment or underpayment
  • Notification of order dispatch, optionally including tracking information
  • Payment instructions, optionally including checkout information
  • General correspondence between you and the client

Reporting spam

If you are still receiving promotional emails after you've unsubscribed from the clients mailing list, you may report the seller to us for investigation. We reserve the right to restrict email facilities for clients who abuse this feature.
