OMINS began its development in 2004 as an in-house platform for integrated e- commerce, auction and business management for New Zealand Online Auction Brokers Ltd (NZOAB – alfle on Trade Me) as the owners of NZOAB had a background in software development. Creating a system was a natural progression for the business and NZOAB, using OMINS, went on become a very successful e-commerce operation and one of the
largest traders on Trade Me; in fact, NZOAB has acquired the highest individual feedback rating on Trade Me.
Originally, OMINS was kept in-house and maintained as the competitive edge for NZOAB, however after a number of enquires and strong outside interest in the software, Snipesoft Ltd was formed in 2006 to distribute, customise and support OMINS for a limited number of clients. The original developers of OMINS have since moved to become full time Snipesoft Ltd staff and developers of OMINS. OMINS is currently used by a number of clients and Snipesoft Ltd employs 3 full time developers.
