Using Afterpay for Trademe listings – OMINS

 

TradeMe recently announced that they will be including Afterpay as a payment option for your listings.  We have written a guide to walk you through on enabling this payment option to your listings using OMINS.

 

 

First of all, let’s discuss why having Afterpay is a good addition to your listings:

What is Afterpay?

• Afterpay is a company that gives online merchants an option for their customers to have a buy now pay later structure of payment. It is almost the same as lay-by, the difference is you get to take home your purchase before you’ve finished paying for them.

 

Who can use Afterpay?

• The only requirement is that you need to be 18 or above and must have a debit/credit card linked to your Afterpay account.

 

How does it work and its benefit?

• The merchant will receive full payment and the buyer will arrange payments with Afterpay.  Payments will be structured into four equal fortnightly installments.
• It is always better to have more options for your buyers in terms of payments. Opening this avenue of customer convenience can increase your listings’ conversion.
